After a disaster FEMA can trigger funding for additional housing support for survivors.
For that to happen, sufficient evidence of need has to be provided to FEMA. As of 5/20/25 FEMA has stated that they “see no evidence of that need” in LA.
PostFire is working with Department of Angels to give FEMA proof of need to unlock that support.
Here’s where you come in:
your experience can move the needle.
The poll is quick and to the point. Your personal information will never be shared (with FEMA or anyone else). All you need is an ID and proof that you lived in the burn zone before the fires.
Why we ask you to verify your status:
Asking an entity to adjust its approach and potentially admit it’s made a mistake is a hard thing to do. They are inclined to stand by the decision that was already made, so we have to provide results that can’t be brushed aside.
The results of a poll of the public can be dismissed as “opinion”, but a poll of verified survivors cannot. We don’t want to ask you to participate in something that won’t yield a hard-working result.
