IO Wright
Co-founder, CPO
iO Wright is a translator—of crisis, complexity, and human experience. For over 20 years, he’s helped people make sense of systems and situations that are built to overwhelm.
Raised in low-income housing by a single mother, iO’s leadership is grounded in lived experience. He has led major grassroots fundraising and direct relief efforts, including the distribution of $90,000 in aid during COVID, and has built long-standing partnerships that channel resources to communities often excluded from formal support. His work consistently bridges the gap between institutional systems and the real-world needs of those they’re meant to serve. iO’s content guiding survivors through post-fire recovery were viewed over 16 million times in four months.
iO is also a widely respected cultural voice. He is the creator of Self Evident Truths, the largest photographic record of a marginalized community in history, and the author of three books published in five languages. His TEDx Talk has been viewed over 3 million times, and he has lectured for Harvard, Stanford, Nike, and The Atlantic. His journalism and essays have appeared in The New York Times, Vogue, The LA Times, New York Magazine, and more. His podcasts have reached more than 15 million downloads.
iO leads the design of all PostFire programming, oversees the organization’s ethical framework, and guides its public voice. He ensures that every tool, message, and initiative reflects PostFire’s values — steady, trustworthy, and useful.
